A withdrawal time is never one number. It is four separate clocks running one after another, and only two of them belong to the casino. Once you can see which clock you are waiting on, the advertised "24 hours" or "3–5 business days" stops being useful and the actual delay becomes predictable.

Stage one: the pending window
Most casinos hold a withdrawal request in a pending state before they begin processing it. During that window the request can be cancelled — either by you, by clicking cancel in the cashier, or automatically if you keep playing and the balance is drawn back in.
This stage is entirely operator-controlled, and it is the one that most often turns a "slow payout" into something else. A withdrawal that has sat pending for two days has not been delayed by a bank. It has been sitting where the casino put it, waiting for the window to elapse.
The pending window is also the reason the single most effective thing you can do to speed up a payout is to stop playing after you request it. A reversed withdrawal restarts the entire sequence from zero.
Stage two: approval and risk review
Once the pending window closes, the request goes to the casino's own approval process. Three things are checked here.
Identity verification. If your documents are not on file and approved, this is where the withdrawal stops. Verification is requested at the first withdrawal, not at registration, which is why a first payout is almost always the slowest one you will ever have at a given casino. Upload documents before you need them and this stage costs nothing.
Risk and payment-method rules. The reviewer confirms the withdrawal destination belongs to you and matches an acceptable method.
For a fully verified account with no active bonus, approval is a formality and usually takes minutes to hours. For an unverified account it takes as long as your document upload does.
Stage three: the payment rail
This is where the method you chose starts to matter, and where the differences are structural rather than discretionary. The casino has no control over this stage at all.
Cryptocurrency settles fastest — the transaction is broadcast and confirmed on-chain, generally within minutes.
E-wallets are the fastest conventional option. Funds land in the wallet account quickly, because the transfer is between accounts on the same network rather than between banks.
Bank transfers are the slowest rail, because they clear on banking-business-day cycles rather than continuously.
The practical rule follows directly: the rail you choose sets your floor. No amount of chasing support will make a bank transfer behave like an e-wallet.
Stage four: the receiving institution
The last clock belongs to whoever receives the money. An e-wallet credits the balance on arrival and the stage is invisible. A bank may hold an incoming international transfer for its own checks, and that hold happens after the casino's part is complete and after the rail has delivered.
This stage is the reason a payout can be genuinely finished at the casino end and still not visible in your account. It is also the stage nobody can give you a tracking number for.
Card payouts and the return-to-source rule
One rule cuts across all of this. Where a deposit was made by card, payment networks generally require that a payout is returned to the same card, up to the amount originally deposited. That is a network requirement, not a casino policy, and support cannot waive it.
The consequence catches people out. If your withdrawal is larger than what you deposited by card, the payout splits: the deposit amount goes back to the card, and the surplus needs a second, verified destination — usually a bank account. That means a second verification step and a second rail, each with its own clock.
If you expect to withdraw more than you deposit, choose a method that can absorb the whole payout in one piece. An e-wallet or a crypto address avoids the split entirely.
Why the advertised numbers mislead
A casino that advertises "withdrawals within 24 hours" is describing stages one and two — the part it controls. That figure can be perfectly honest and still have nothing to do with when money reaches you, because it stops at the point the payment leaves the operator.
Conversely, a payout that takes five days is not necessarily a slow casino. A bank transfer requested on a Friday afternoon, from an account verified that morning, will take most of a week no matter how well the operator performs.
So read the advertised time as what it is: one clock out of four. The other three are set by the method you pick and the institution you pick it at.
The fast path and the slow path
Put the stages together and the extremes are clear.
The fast path: a fully verified account, no active bonus, a withdrawal requested and then left alone, paid to a crypto address or an e-wallet. Stage one is short, stage two is instant, stage three is minutes, stage four is invisible.
The slow path: a first-ever withdrawal from an unverified account with a bonus still in play, requested to a bank transfer late in the week. Every one of the four clocks runs long, and they run in sequence.
The difference between the two is almost entirely decisions you make before you click withdraw.
One thing to keep in mind
Online casino games are not licensed in Australia, so a casino offering them to Australian players is operating offshore and its payout practices are not overseen by an Australian regulator. Nothing above is a guarantee of payment; it is a description of how the machinery works when it works. Choose operators on their payout record, and verify your account early — those two things do more for your withdrawal time than any amount of chasing afterwards.
